Cancer Bitch
Met with the clinical trial staff at Johns Hopkins today. Gave more blood, gave more CT scan. Damn. I've had more MRI's, CT scans and EKG's in the past 2 months than I've had in my entire life!
Chemo starts next week, either Wednesday or Thursday. Depending on which trial I'm in, I may or may not lose my hair. Nelly was disappointed - she already had a nice wig picked out for me.
I've been avoiding some of the pancreatic cancer web sites. As my gangsta Aunt sometimes says, "you saw it, but you didn't see it."
For the time being I'll just focus on being positive, soak up the love coming my way, and take it one step at a time....

Watch out -- we could drown you with our love and that would be counter-productive.
Seriously: we are keeping positive, right along with you.
xoxoxoxo
You're an inspiration -- you making it hard for me to go negative over minor stuff, and you know I can :)
Keep spreading the positivity, sweetie. We'll all there with you.
hugs
lol. can i please correct my grammar -- you're sted you
cheers
If you lose those exotic dreads, go with the kool-aid red wig, I think it's adorable. Why not?
With so much of my hair migrating from my head to my upper lip, here's my game plan: Waiting until I have three strands left and twist it into a single lock.
Till then, showering you with love and the hairstyle of your dreams...

Well, you do have the personality to rock any wig you choose...short of the Marge Simpson model, that is. We might have to do an intervention for that.
Hmm. Try this as a possible style:

You will look great wig or no wig. Hang in there and feel all the love and prayers showered upon you. Thank you for keeping us posted on the news. We are with you each step of the way.
Love you.
I am sending you LOADS of love and healing energy. No pink ribbons about it you have my full-own prayerful, swearing-also support!
Positive 24/7. You got so much love coming at you that you'd better hold onto something so you won't be blown away.
Positive and full of faith is the way to go. We serve a God of miracles so remember all the instances of healing in the Bible and claim one as your own. Holla back.
If you lose your hair, there's also always the headscarf option. I had a friend who did that because she thought wigs were too itchy. She picked out some gorgeous ones, too... shopping spree!
Box, we all love you so. I think Nelly's right - about the new do and you'd rock that wig and look hot. So get it, regardless. I think you deserve a wild women's spa day!
